I am writing on behalf of the Ontario Association of Sign Language Interpreters (OASLI), a professional association representing American Sign Language (ASL) - English Interpreters in Ontario. This letter is to acknowledge our support of the human rights action being brought forward by Gary Malkowski, Nancy Barker and Scott Simser to make captioning in movie theatres available.
Our members are committed to providing services to eliminate barriers and ensure equal access to communication / information.
We challenge you to make a similar commitment to the Deaf, Deafened and Hard of Hearing community by providing a barrier free environment so they too may enjoy this beloved pastime.
